We had a wonderful time celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday!
We made Cat in the Hat hats! Aren't they adorable?!!?
The kids made their own hats! We put strips of painters tape on a piece of paper and the kids got to sponge on them. They are all so unique! We love exposing the kids to different art medias!
We read "The Foot Book" by Dr. Seuss on Tuesday.
Today we read "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss and the kids really enjoyed it! They were reading right along with me after the second page. (:
After we read "Green Eggs and Ham", practiced some rhyming. The kids would probably love to do it again so here are some rhymes we did.
It rhymes with call.
If you trip over my shoelace I would ..... (fall)
(after we said each one we would shout, "CALL AND FALL: they RHYME!!!". This was a favorite part!!)
It rhymes with hall.
It's round and it bounces- it is a.... (ball)
It rhymes with wish.
You put food in to. It is a .... (dish)
It rhymes with that.
You wear it on your head. It is a.... (hat)
It rhymes with pat.
It's not a kitten, it's a....(cat)
It rhymes with run
Up in the sky, there is a....(sun)
It rhymes with sun.
If you're having a good time, you're having....(fun)
It rhymes with snake.
You put frosting on it. It is a....(cake)
It rhymes with cup.
The opposie of down is....(up)
It rhymes with sunny.
When something makes you laugh, it is......(funny)
It rhymes with not.
You cook soup in a.....(pot)

The opposite of go is....(stop)
After a couple of rhymes, some of the kids started to get it.
Most of the kids enjoyed our green eggs and ham! We asked each child to at least taste them.
