Since the beginning of the year we've been practicing recognizing our names by "checking in" each morning. The kids have to find our names by the home picture and move it by the school logo. In the beginning of the year we started with just first names, we are using first and last names now and soon we will be changing to just our last names. We'll see how that goes! (:
On Thursday, we practiced recognizing our names and spelling them. I chose a name and that child would come up and stand in front of the class. We would cheer to spell their name - Example: Cameron - Give me a "C", give me a "A", and so on, and what does that spell?? CAMERON!! After we cheered their name, they had the chance to spell their own name. Ask your child if they spelled theirs and how to spell their name? They did a GREAT job on this!! Most tried and successfully spelled their name.
