First Days of School

We are so excited to start a new school year!!  The children are already busy making new friends and learning about all the exciting equipment we have at school.

In the beginning, we found a spot on the carpet and took attendance.  This is the song we sang to take attendance this week.  "Stand up (name of child), stand up (another child), stand up (another), stand up (another).  Reach up very high now, reach and touch the sky now.  Then we insert different things to do with their bodies.  Example:  tap your shoulders, jump up and down, clap your hands.  We end with turn around, touch the ground."  Here are some children when it was their turn.

We learned how to take out carpets when we are going to work on the floor.  We found our names and moved them from Home to School.

We sang songs.  Here we are singing, "I'm a little teapot".  We sang this before we learned how to pour.

Here is one of our friends pouring from pitcher to pitcher.  This is great practice before we start handwashing and pouring real water.  Ask your child what we are pouring.
