Fractions/ number work

Parents are always asking how we teach math, reading, letter recognition, number recoginition, writing, etc.  I think if you look over our blog you can see ALL the ways that we expose children to all of the academic concepts.  If you ask our preschoolers what a fraction is, this is above what they truly understand.  However, even if they don't exactly understand the word, they can definitely understand about fractions.

We introduced fractions to the kids.  The kids were so excited and ALL OF THEM wanted to work on the fractions equipment.
Mrs. B worked one-on-one with some of the kids who were really into this and expanded on the concepts.  This is one of the reasons why I love our classroom.  Most of our work can be done by all but expanded depending on age and ability  (:
Here is a little boy that is working the 100s board.
The kids that are ready all want to work on the hundreds board.  This little boy did the hundreds board and then wrote them all!  He worked really hard on this and we are so proud of him!!  (:

Color cubes

Here is one of our Color Cube Stairs.  This little girl was ready for the next step.  After she did the color cube stair, she made her own color cube chart.  Another hard worker!!  (:
Here is a little girl working on a different color cube game.
