Fruits

Last week we had a great time learning about fruit.

We read a book called, "Ten Apples up on top!" by Dr. Seuss.
Mrs. Porcaro tried to see how many apples she could put on her head.  She could only balance 1
We made our own book, "Sunshine Mountain Friends have 112 apples on their heads".  The kids got to put how many apples they would like to balance on their head.  The book is in the process of being laminated and bound.

We also graphed what our favorite apple was.  Each child got the opportunity to taste a piece of red, green and yellow apple.  After each child tried them, we asked them which they liked best.  After the class was done, we counted the apples and picked which we liked the best and least.
We sang some fun apple songs too!

A-P-P-L-E
(bingo)
I know a fruit that's good to eat and apple is its name-o
A-P-P-L-E, A-P-P-L-E, A-P-P-L-E
And apple is it's name-o.

In our version, the letter is replaced with a "crunch" (like crunching an apple).

I know a fruit that's good to eat and apple is its name-o
Crunch-P-P-L-E, Crunch-P-P-L-E, Crunch-P-P-L-E
And apple is it's name-o.
